The Fox Float DPS dampers of the Factory series are the first choice for the champions in the World Cup.

The high-performance dampers from Fox have been consistently redesigned for even better downhill performance. DPS stands for Dual Piston System, the damper is made up of two pistons and should offer a hard lockout, make no compromises in the damping behavior and be more precisely adjustable than its predecessor. In the previous model, the valve design has already been changed, which enables improved rebound and compression flow. Furthermore, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces the breakaway torque.

The damper has the enlarged “LV” air chamber, which leads to a more linear spring characteristic.

Trunnion Mount
This damper is specially designed for mount provided by Trunnion standard. In this case, the upper attachment is on the side of the damper and not, as is normally the case, in a damper eye. This made it possible to shorten the overall length without causing space problems inside.

Dual Piston System (DPS)
This system has three driving settings (Open Medium Firm). This means that the driver can adapt the damper to the relevant terrain at any time. The new double piston design offers full lockout, better driving control and unmatched efficiency. Thus, the way the damper works in lockout mode differs significantly from that in open and medium mode. In open mode, the damper can still be fine-tuned in 3 stages to suit the respective driving style.

EVOL
The air chamber called EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for “Extra Volume”. This adjustment should also have a positive effect on the suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the damper. This leads to better traction and softer response. At the same time, the characteristic curve can be raised a little in the middle spring travel range, which is thus more linear. The rear end with the Fox Float damper should be much more powerful.

Metric installation dimensions
By introducing metric installation dimensions, the damper manufacturers want to standardize the standards. There shouldn’t be so many different variants in the future. In addition, a similar linear gradation of the various length and stroke dimensions is sought, as is already the case with suspension forks. Incidentally, these dampers offer more space inside, because the hole spacing has usually been slightly increased for the same length of stroke.
